Simply for something a bit different that will appeal to the film generation...I have both of these cameras (with battery grips)......both can best be described every bit mint......simply I've decided to sell one, and go on one every bit a back-up to my Eos 1V.

I genuinely can't tell which one to part with...the iii is the more modern torso with electronics that mirror the 1V...merely the feel of the 1N is something else. Each time I brand a decision and go to put i back in it's box to sell I detect I can't do information technology!

Any rational suggestions as to which should get??

Personally an EOS three + EOS 1V combo would be my choice anyday.

My trouble is I get quite attached to my cameras so I'thousand really gritting my teeth on this ane. I still have two FTb QLs from my art school days....and two T90s when I upgraded (plus all the lenses of class)...plus a couple of rangefinders, an Eos RT and a few other bodies that will probably have to be eBayed sometime

I'm starting to become deplorable seeing them sitting at that place in the cuboard...part of me feels that someone should get some use from them while moving-picture show is notwithstanding readily available...not that I envisage information technology's imminent demise.

I am too aware that cameras don't like sitting doing nothing...and so information technology's quite a ritual every month to fire the shutter a few times in each of them, try a few settings on the lenses and so on.

Hmm, the 1N and three felt well-nigh the same to me. They even utilize the same standard grip, are made of the same material (plastic) and have the same level of weather seals. I sold my 1N years ago after ownership the 3 because the 3 a lot better camera in near aspects. The 1N does have a 100% VF vs 98% for the 3 only that was a moot betoken considering the slide mounts covered more than that.

I'd proceed the 3 to proceed with the 1v. Even though the 1n and 1v are both 1-series cameras, the 3 and 1v are 95% the same camera inside and out.

Practice you really need the coin? If I had serious nostalgia attached to my took-it-home-new-from-the-shop EOS 1N too every bit my Nikon FM2N, I would never sell them.

And I probably never will!

I have the 1v and EOS3 and savor them both. Pretty similar cameras. I utilize them for film work on weddings and having 2 pretty like bodies, helps me react with confidence.

Logic is pushing me towards the 3 but emotion towards the1N. Despite what one poster feels, the build quality is not the aforementioned..the 1N just feels a more substantial bit of kit..much like the T90'southward feel. Also..the 1N was the camera that established Canon equally THE marque for pro photographers..and so a fleck of history actually..but as the T90 inverse the confront of SLRs for always.

The 3 does focus easier for certain..but I tin always use the 1V for catchy lighting situations...

If not for a plush divorce oh so many years agone, I'd likely however take my pair of T-90s... they were remarkable cameras! I tin can't help you with the choice, unless telling you non to brand it is helpful. I'd put them in a nice showcase where they would be kept make clean, and available, merely in example I decided to toss off a roll of slide movie some day. I'g shopping for a picture show trunk at present just to be able to cure the crawling in one case in a while. And I'm torn betwixt the 3 and the 1V for which i to look for. So I'one thousand going to watch this thread some more than and meet which fashion you become or at to the lowest degree which way y'all're leaned to, as I'm sure it volition assist me decide which one I'll desire to shop for.

Cheers!

I picked the 3 over the North. I have never had the V, just the 3 would requite you lot ECF--something the N doesn't have(as already mentioned). I don't run across the Due north adding anything that the V doesn't encompass. So, some other vote for the 1V + EOS 3.

If I were you I would sell the 1N minus the grip, which I would sell to me for my 3 (which should go far from a beau FMer next week or then) (that's 'me' being me, not you!)
