"Do I contradict myself? Very well then, I contradict myself; I am large - I contain multitudes."
That's been Lana Del Rey's Twitter bio for a while now. The contradictions in question might be her statements agains some Black celebrities (that got her 'cancelled' in May 2020) or her choice to wear a bedazzled mesh face mask to promote pandemic safety. At least girl is self aware.
Now she's dropping new visuals for a song that's already been out for a month- with different cover art altogether. Here's why she just posted a revised 'Blue Banisters' art option (and what her fans have to say about it):
The Original Got Dragged HARD Online
Here's the first album art Lana chose for 'Blue Banisters.' If it looks a bit amateurish, that might be because it features a selfie Lana appears to have taken herself- and had shared multiple times on social media before- plus a text overlay and frame template fans recognized from the free photo editing app 'Picsart.'
Her cover work even inspired some fans to re-design their own favorite album art, Lana-style. All in all the attention on 'Blue Banisters' was pretty negative, and got #LanaDelRey and #P{icsart training simultaneously for DAYS.
Fans 'Relieved' at the New One
Here's the new cover Lana shared across her socials today. While some fans say it still gives them "Picsart vibes," most seem to think the aesthetic improvement is undeniable.
Top comments on her IG read "I'm so thankful and relieved for this cover design" and "OMG THIS IS THE COVER FINALLY."
"Lana is smart for getting herself trending for those ugly picsart covers just to unveil one of her prettiest covers omg im obsessed," writes one fan on Twitter.
The 'Picsart' jokes still continue, with popular Tweets like "My girl could finally afford picsart premium!! so proud of her xx," and " UPRAGED FROM PICSART TO ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, WE WON."
Who knows how the songstress actually put the new art together, but it looks to have involved some professional photography at least. (FYI, if you think professional cover art photography is overrated, Taylor Swift agrees:)
Album Will Finally Drop...'Soonish'
Along with Lana's new art came the news that a new single from the album is dropping "soonish" and the whole album itself will come "later later." For now, she's offering clips of unreleased songs like this one.
Her official website still has the old album art all over it, but fingers crossed the updates (and the album) come soon! One question still remains about that new option though...why aren't the banisters blue?
